February is Library Lovers' Month, a time to recognize the valuable role that libraries play in our communities. Glenside is no exception. The Cheltenham Township Library System, led by Director Carrie Turner, has put together an array of programs for patrons young and old and Glenside is lucky to have our branch so close by.

Here are just a few of those programs at the Glenside branch:

  • Women In Science Wednesdays. Every Wednesday in March, for ages 6 to 12. Participants learn about women in science and complete a STEM activity based on their work
  • Pajama Story Time Special. Tuesday, March 20 @6:30 PM, for ages 2 to 5. Put on your pjs and join in the fun for before bedtime  stories, songs and more.
  • A VERY SKETCHY LIBRARY PROGRAM: Saturday, March 17 @ 1 PM. Join with others to enjoy sketching and conversation to improve skills and meet new friends. All skill levels and art styles welcome.

There are so many more interesting programs to enlighten, entertain and educate - Family Gaming Afternoon; One-on-One Technology Assistance; Tail Waggin' Tutors; Book Club; STEM Programming; Toddler and Preschool Storytime Class; Knit and Crochet Club - and that's just Glenside. T he best way to find out what's happening is to visit the library system website at AND make sure to sign up for the Director's monthly newsletter.

"Every gift to the library makes a difference," notes Carrie Turner, the Director of the library system. Consider making a gift of funds so the libraries can continue to serve the community in the same great way they are doing now.  If you haven't visited in awhile, stop by the Glenside branch and learn more about the programs offered. While you are there, check out the great bank of computers that enable people who might not have access to the internet to do so - no charge, just need a library card!
